We use the latest in diagnostic technology to determine the potential problem with your gearbox. We carry out a number of BMW gearbox repairs from reconditioning and rebuilding through to full replacement. Many BMW models are fitted with Steptronic Transmission, referred to as the ‘manu-matic’, allowing the driver to easily switch between both Automatic and Manual for a multi-drive mode experience. This gearbox will also ‘make the decision for you’, shifting gears automatically when necessary. As standard, during our automatic repairs, we ensure that the transmission fluid is spinning as it should be and isn’t contaminated with metallic particles that could contribute to the deterioration of your gearbox.
How We Work
If you are experiencing problems with the dual clutch system on your gearbox, this may mean that the mechatronic unit requires repair. The mechatronic unit is a computerised system that works in conjunction with your engine to determine when the gears need to be changed.
Whenever we repair a mechatronic, the programming we undertake is done online via a VAG server which ensures the coding remains the same. This also means that your keys will not be affected and should work as they always have.
We have a wealth of gearbox experience within our arsenal. This means that we are able to fix all types of automatic gearboxes including automatic transmissions and semi-automatic, powershift, mechatronic, DSG and SMG 1,2,3 gearboxes.
BMW Reconditioning
During our reconditioning process, your gearbox will be deconstructed and its components will be checked to ensure that they are fit for purpose, removing any that are damaged or worn. These will either be reconditioned or fully replaced for new.
This supplies you a more cost-effective solution, ensuring your BMW gearbox works like new, without having to replace the gearbox in full.
