Many Ford models are built with PowerShift transmission, consisting of a dual-clutch system, whereby the gearbox preselects the gear. How We Work
For the benefit of our clients, during a gearbox repair, we will undertake an inspection of the transmission fluid as standard. We check that this fluid is spinning properly and isn’t contaminated with harmful metallic particles that could exasperate the wear and tear of your gearbox.
If your dual-clutch system is becoming problematic, this may be due to a fault with your mechatronic unit. This unit is a computerised system that operates alongside your engine to ensure that your gears are changed properly and at the right time.
Whenever a mechatronic is repaired, the programming is completed online via a VAG server ensuring the coding remains intact. This also ensures that your keys will work just the same and will not be affected. Implementing the latest programming dramatically reduces the wear of your clutch and extends its life.
With a wealth of gearbox experience under our belts, we have the ability to repair every type of automatic gearbox available, including automatic transmissions and semi-automatic, powershift, mechatronic, DSG and SMG 1,2,3 gearboxes.
Ford Reconditioning
When your Ford gearbox is being reconditioned, it will be dismantled into its individual parts and inspected for signs of wear and tear or damage. The parts that are working as they should be will be kept and the damaged or broken parts will either be reconditioned or fully replaced for new.
This allows your Ford automatic gearbox to be fully restored and working like new, without the price tag of a full replacement being attached, providing you with a more cost-effective solution.
We also do not repair the double clutch, we fit new Ford OEM Clutches.All Power Shifts are re-programmened with the latest level software dramatically reducing clutch ware and extending service life.
